veggie pizza (lima)

Veggie Pizza in Barranco. Where do I start.

I was so excited to find a spot in Lima to take care of my pizza cravings!

To top it all off, this spot is in the ♥ of Barranco – my favourite district in Lima – charming, colourful, bohemian, trendy, chill, historic, all thrown together.

We had a cozy little, romantically-lit, canopied garden patio to ourselves (I can’t believe the place wasn’t bustling).

I ordered the Jardín Real (asparagus, zucchini, choclo, mushrooms, avocado, tomato sauce, sprinkled with black sesame). And AVOCADO CHEESE! (Queso de palta).

Other than Daiya’s shredded, I hadn’t yet tried a ‘homemade’ vegan cheese.  You’ve heard me correctly. Maybe because I’m too lazy to whip up cashews and other such things in a blender. I’m a noob.

To be fair, I’m not sure how much flavour/texture came from the avocado topping on the pie, or the cheese itself. But it was soft, rich, creamy, full of fresh and delicate avocado flavour.  The grilled veggies, crisp flatbread, and generous dashes of black sesame seeds were melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness… and the AJÍ HOT SAUCE took it to the next level…. OH, BABY!!

Hands down, my numero uno vegan pizza experience thus far. Weeeeee!
